Tamron AF 18-270mm F/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD Review

April 2nd, 2011 Posted in SLR Lenses

Tamron’s newest and most powerful “All-in-One” lenses, the 18-270mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD is the worlds lightest and most compact 15x optical zoom lens for dSLR cameras. Significantly smaller and lighter than their previous 18-270mm lens, it was designed specifically for use with ASP-C sized sensors and if used on a full-sized sensor, vignetting will be noticeable. Tamron has chosen this lens as one of its first to include the new Piezo Drive motor. This allows for faster and quieter autofocus, which is great for candid and nature photography.

This is a well built, light and very compact lens, making it easy to pack into a bag and a pleasure to use while out walking around. It has a 35mm equivalent of 28 – 419mm. Also included on the lens is Tamron’s VC (Vibration Compensation) to fight camera shake. It is available for both Canon and Nikon mounts but not Sony at this time. Along with this lens you will also get a flower-shaped lens hood and 6-Year Limited warranty.

I’ve the Nokia 5630 Xpressmusic and you may already know that there’s no autofocus around the camera. I’ve been sick and disappointed using the poor image and video quality. So I have been considering installing any S60v3 application as photography is my personal favorite hobby. Have ideas?

I’ve got a point-and-shoot camera that’s rather cheap and does not possess a manual focus feature. I’m wondering if there’s any DIY or purchasable rig that will let me by hand alter focus. Autofocus is okay and all sorts of, however it keeps concentrating on the backdrop when the person is not in the heart of the shot.

I am not really a professional and also have a Canon XSi. You want to take photos in our kids throughout sports, dance, etc. I have checked out canon’s 75-300 and also the Tamron 75-300.

I believe that obtaining a Nikkor AF 50mm lens are the best than getting an AF-S one.

My camera does not come with an autofocus motor.

Why or just when was autofocus important ?

I am getting a lot of demands recently for wedding ceremonies and I’d enjoy to upgrade my equipment to ensure that I’m able to get great shots without having to be up in individuals face constantly. Presently I’ve an 85mm 1.8 along with a Tamron 18-270 3.5 which i would say could be my primary contacts for shooting from the distance, is the fact that sufficient? Or must i upgrade, and when so the best idea to begin with? I’d enjoy for the greatest depth of area so I am thinking the two.8L, however i would also think about the f/4L whether it has the standard I am searching for. Also will it be better to rent this equipment and give it a try first before purchasing?

    thanks
